Many families ask us, "How will I know when it's time?" There is rarely a perfect answer, and every pet's journey is different.

If you're struggling with this decision, we encourage you to schedule a quality-of-life consultation with one of our veterinarians. Together, we'll discuss your pet's comfort, mobility, appetite, happiness, and overall well-being. We'll answer your questions honestly and help you understand the options available, whether that's continuing treatment, focusing on comfort and pain management, or considering humane euthanasia.

Our goal is never to rush this decision, but to help you make the choice that is best for your beloved companion.

What to Expect

When the time comes to say goodbye, our priority is making your pet's final moments as peaceful, gentle, and comfortable as possible.

We strive to provide a quiet, private setting where you and your family can spend meaningful time with your pet. There is no need to feel rushed—we want you to have the time and space you need to say goodbye in your own way.

Before the procedure begins, one of our team members will carefully explain each step and answer any questions you may have.

Your pet will first receive a sedative to help them relax and become comfortable. As they peacefully drift off to sleep, you are welcome to stay with them, hold them, talk to them, or simply sit quietly together. Once they are fully relaxed, the final medication is gently administered, allowing them to pass peacefully and without pain.

Whether you choose to remain with your pet throughout the entire process or say your goodbyes beforehand is a deeply personal decision. There is no right or wrong choice, and whatever you decide, our team will support you with compassion and understanding.

Aftercare & Cremation Services

Before your appointment, we'll talk with you about the aftercare options available and answer any questions you may have. If you would like to make arrangements in advance, Forever Friends Pet Cremation offers pre-planning services to help ease some of the decisions during an emotional time.

Following your pet's passing, a caring member of the Forever Friends team will personally reach out to discuss your wishes, explain the available cremation and memorial options, and ensure every detail is handled with compassion and respect.

For families who choose private cremation, Forever Friends provides the thoughtful service of hand-delivering your pet's cremated remains back to you at the location of your choosing, allowing for a more personal and comforting experience.

Coping with the Loss of a Beloved Pet
